If I could use one word to describe the upcoming Louisiana Press Association Annual Stockholder meeting, that would be it.
In addition to providing updates on LPA general business and board nominations, we will be discussing public notices.
Regardless of Senate Bill 322’s outcome, we need to address next steps. The public notice landscape is changing across the nation -- some good (https://www.pnrc.net/2022/05/03/nebraska-modernizes-public-notice-law/) and some bad.
The Stockholder meeting begins at 9:30 a.m., June 30 at the Baton Rouge City Club, and the 2021 Better Newspaper Competition Awards ceremony will follow, beginning at noon.
It will be a chance for us to honor the best of your work and mark the first in-person event since the pandemic started.
It is free to attend the stockholder meeting; however, it is limited to stockholders and invited guests. The luncheon is $35 per person and open to all members. You can register for either or both the stockholder meeting and luncheon at https://www.lapress.com/app/2022Stockholder.html
The awards luncheon will also be a chance to honor this year and last year's 50-Year Club honorees. You can still nominate people for this year's class at: Nominations for LPA's 50 Year Club
