MARKET/COMMUNITY OVERVIEW

Lincoln Parish, where the city of Ruston is located, is home to two colleges — Louisiana Tech University and Grambling State University. It is a community very involved in education from pre-school through doctoral degrees offered by both universities. Because teachers from all levels are a major part of our readership, the level of reporting people living in Lincoln Parish desire is probably higher than many other newspapers throughout our state. Louisiana Tech has become of the nation's premier institutions in multiple types of engineering as well as the growing field of cyber-security. The level of interest in our schools extends to the world of athletics, where both Louisiana Tech and Grambling are known nationally. The Eddie Robinson Museum, one of the highlights in our area, is named for and honors former Grambling football coach Eddie Robinson, one of the winningest and most famous college coaches of all time.
